Write your cover letter for a job you really do want in which you remind yourself how great you are and why everyone should be clamouring to have you in their employ. Since I don't want the job I'm interviewing for tomorrow, all I have to do is show up at the interview with some references and some set speeches on how great I am, and the absolutely worst thing that can happen is that I get an offer. Right?
